Lesson 2: Ideation

During the second lesson, we thought about three designs of our bags and their individual criteria.

Here are my three designs (not drawn to scale):

My first design is of length and width as stated in the picture above. This particular design will take quite a fair bit of sewing which will take up a lot of time. However, I feel that the bag is too long and will touch the ground if I hold it instead of over the shoulder.

My second design is of length and width as stated in the picture shown above. While the design is relatively simpler than that of the first bag, the sewing of the pocket will be rather difficult and I would have to start all over again if I mess up, which is very time-consuming. The size is just right, and it looks big enough to carry all the necessary cookery items.

My third design is of length and width as stated in the picture shown above. Its design is extremely simple with only a small ribbon needed to be sewn onto the bag yet the ribbon makes the bag quite attractive so the design is effective. The bag is also big enough to carry the necessary cookery items.

In the end, I decided on the third design as it fulfills all the criteria.
